Interstate 14 Westbound

Here's what our westbound drive looks like...

I-14-WB-300
The first westbound exit on I-14. As they say, everything is bigger in Texas, so perhaps a western extension along US 190 is in the works, possibly to Odessa.

Interstate 14 Eastbound

One of the newest additions to the system is I-14. Although only a small section exists in Texas, there are much grander plans to continue across the Deep South, with the proposed route going through at least four more states (Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia). But for now, we're looking at the short eastbound drive of what is currently open.

I-14-EB-277
Why is the first exit numbered 277? Might it be because there's a westward extension in mind? Whatever the reason, this is where I-14 begins alongside US 190.

The main reason for this section of I-14 is to directly connect Fort Hood to the Interstate system. And yes, more military bases across the South are planned to be connected directly to I-14.

I-55 meets I-12 at this cloverleaf interchange. Although it doesn't go directly to New Orleans (instead, it ends at La Place), it and I-10 make up the link to the Big Easy from points north.

And now, the westbound drive on I-72: At this interchange, Church Street makes the transition to I-72. US 36 joins in, and will ...
