Interstate 11 Southbound

Here's the southbound trek on the completed section of I-11...


I-11 encounters its first southbound exit here.














This is the temporary southern terminus. I-11 will continue along US 93 to the Phoenix area, but it is highly unlikely that it will actually terminate in Phoenix, as it may divert at Wickenburg and swing around to the west along SR 85. Like the northern terminus, its permanent southern terminus remains a mystery.

Interstate 11 Northbound

As we roadgeeks already know, I-11 is proposed to stretch from Phoenix to Las Vegas and may even go as far north as Reno and as far south as Tucson or Nogales, but there's a small piece in Nevada that's already signed. Here's the northbound drive on the one stretch that already has I-11 signs up along it.


I-11 begins at the state line between Arizona and Nevada, covering the US 93 corridor.














This is the temporary north end of I-11. Where it goes next remains to be seen, as it may either go around Las Vegas on I-215 or through it on I-515.

Interstate 8 Westbound

Now this is the return trip on I-8 from Casa Grande to San Diego.


















SR 85 serves as a placeholder for a potential I-11 alignment. Although I-11 is touted as the Phoenix-Las Vegas Interstate, it will most likely never reach Phoenix.










































On the other side of the Colorado River is the Golden State.
























Needless to say, when it comes to California state routes, 7 is the ultimate nomad. It was once used a few times on different roads in Los Angeles, including the freeway that now carries the I-710 designation. And one day this edition will be decommissioned in favor of I-7, which would be an upgrade of CA 99 between Mettler Ridge and Sacramento.
















































Now approaching the outskirts of San Diego...


















The outer beltway, signed as CA 125. On its south end, it meets a future Interstate.


























Now the control city has changed to Beaches, which means that the sunny shoreline isn't too far away.






Unlike eastbound I-8, you can take I-5 northbound towards the City of Angels from the westbound side.




I-8 meets its end at an intersection with Sunset Cliffs Boulevard.
